2 cups flour

1/4 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

1 1/4 tsp. ground ginger

1 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

2/3 cup safflower oil

1/4 cup molasses

1 egg or 1/4 cup egg substitute

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

White sugar for rolling later

Sift dry ingredients together and set aside. Mix oil, molasses and egg in mixing bowl. Add sugar and blend. Then add dry ingredients. Chill for two hours. Form 1 inch balls and roll in the granulated sugar. Place on a non-stick baking sheet. Sprinkle with a couple drops of water. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. You won't have any left over to store.
