James "Jim" M. Childress has been appointed president-Cape Girardeau for First Community Bank Missouri. Childress is a 1999 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree. He began his commercial banking career with First Community Bank in June 1999. He then spent four years serving as a loan officer in the Malden, Mo., and Poplar Bluff, Mo., bank locations for First Community Bank before moving to the Cape Girardeau bank location in 2003. He was named assistant vice president at the Cape Girardeau bank and also appointed to serve as a director on the bank board of directors effective January 2005. In April 2007, Childress was promoted to vice president and in 2009 he was named vice-president-bank manager of First Community Bank in Cape Girardeau. Childress has been active in the Missouri Bankers Association. First Community Bank, Missouri with assets of $241 million has locations in Poplar Bluff, Cape Girardeau, Malden, Bernie, Mo., and Campbell, Mo.

Smythe to serve as chairman of Broadcasters Association

KFVS12 vice-president and general manager Mike Smythe has been named chairman of the Missouri Broadcasters' Association board of directors. The appointment was made at the association's annual convention held June 3-4 at the Lake of the Ozarks. MBA members currently include 303 Missouri radio stations and 48 television stations. Smythe is a nine-time MBA Award winner for best editorial for his Viewpoint segments, including first place for 2011. He previously had been serving as the board's chairman-elect. Smythe began at KFVS12 in 1998 as general sales manager.

Garrison-North joins Saint Francis as hospitalist

Dr. Nefertiti Garrison-North has joined Saint Francis Medical Center as a hospitalist. Garrison-North is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in pediatrics. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and later completed her residency at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Hospitalists specialize in the care of hospitalized patients. They coordinate all aspects of patient care and work with patients' primary care physician throughout hospitalization, from admission to follow up.

Rosenquist hired as art director at BOLD Marketing

Robby Rosenquist has joined BOLD Marketing as art director. In this role, he will manage client design projects and work closely with the design and account management teams on branding designs and elements. Rosenquist has 15 years of experience working as a graphic artist in Southeast Missouri and has worked on projects for a variety of local, regional and national clients. He holds a bachelor of fine arts degree with an emphasis in graphic design from Southeast Missouri State University.
