Anderson added to staff of Cape Medical Oncology

Dr. Scott A. Anderson has joined Saint Francis Medical Center as a new medical partner and oncologist at Cape Medical Oncology. Anderson spent 19 years in internal medicine academia before completing his oncology fellowship at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinic in Columbia, Mo. Before joining Saint Francis, Anderson was president of his practicing group, Academic Medicine Inc., training many internal medicine residents. He also served as an assistant professor of internal medicine at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine for 10 years. Anderson received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo., and served an internship and residency at Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital, studying internal medicine.

Commerce Brokerage adds Matthews as financial adviser

Roger Tolliver, Commerce Bank president for Southeast Missouri, recently announced that Charlotte Matthews has joined Commerce Brokerage Services Inc. as a financial adviser. Matthews previously was with Edward Jones serving customers in a similar capacity. Before joining Edward Jones, Matthews was with Commerce Bank for three years as an account executive in the merchant services area. She earned her undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University in business administration.

Dr. Stahly passes sleep medicine examination

Dr. Randall L. Stahly recently passed the certification examination in sleep medicine, which he is adding as a subspecialty to his practice of neurology. Stahly has been a member of the SoutheastHEALTH medical staff since 1987. His professional memberships include Fellow, American Academy of Neurology; the American Academy of Sleep Medicine; and the American Heart Association.

Darby earns rookie of the month for Missouri East region

Kelly Darby of Jackson, a financial representative with Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, was named Rookie of the Month in the Missouri East Region for January. The honor is given to a full-time representative who has been with Modern Woodmen for less than three years and is leading the region in production. Darby became full-time with Modern Woodmen in November 2010. Modern Woodmen of America is a fraternal life insurance society based in Rock Island, Ill.

McDonald appointed agent/producer for Farmers Insurance

Farmers Insurance Group has announced that Kyle McDonald has been appointed as a full-line agent/producer with a new office location in Scott City. McDonald has purchased the agency from Barbara Curnell Herndon, who had the insurance operation since 2002. Tom Kelsey, commercial broker for Lorimont Place Ltd., who handled the lease transaction, said McDonald would be locating his agency to offices at 2114 Main St. in the Scott City Plaza Center. McDonald will be specializing in commercial and personal property Insurance, as well as auto, health, and life insurance.

Volkerding named new member leader

Ken Volkerding of Jackson, a financial representative with Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, was New Member Leader in the Missouri East Region for January. Volkerding joined Modern Woodmen in October 2004. Modern Woodmen of America is a fraternal life insurance society based in Rock Island, Ill.

Cape pilot awarded instructor of the year

Beverly J. Cleair of Cape Girardeau was awarded the St. Louis Area Flight Instructor of the Year at the 2012 Midwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show held in St. Louis last month. She is a certified flight instructor in Cape Girardeau. Cleair is co-owner and chief flight instructor for Skybound Aviation.
