Noranda Aluminum Inc. of New Madrid, Mo., has presented its annual Quality Through Improved Performance "Carrier of the Year" awards.
This is the first year a van carrier and flatbed carrier qualified for the award.
Hull Trucking of Old Appleton, Mo., and Milan Express Inc. of Jackson, Tenn., were declared winners.
Hull delivered 649 loads, with only one late delivery, and Milan Express, which won the award last year, delivered 1,521 loads, with 13 arriving late.
Noranda produces and ships more than 450 million pounds of primary aluminum products to destinations throughout the Midwest and Mexico. Ninety-five percent of Noranda's products are moved by truck, and more than 20 carriers serve Noranda.
The award is based on a number of performance guidelines, including on-time delivery and pickup, load turndowns and acceptance, driver professionalism, and customer service.
