A Santa's Surplus, a toy, gift and Christmas outlet store, has opened at 1937 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson.

Elsie Peetz, who operated a Santa's Surplus in Perryville four years before moving to Jackson, said the store will be open through the Christmas holidays.

The store is one of more than 1,000 Santa's Surplus stores in the United States. Merchandise consists of holiday decor, gift items, and toys and games for children and adults.

The store will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 Sunday.

Peetz said the shop carried a number of name-brand items.

Santa's Surplus buys from the factories and manufacturers. Most of the store's inventory is stock that has been liquidated, overstocked or discontinued items.
