LETTERS: MEDICAL EXHIBIT ON VIEW TILL FALL AT CAPE MUSEUM

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor:

The Cape River Heritage Museum held an official opening exhibit, "Antique Medical Memorabilia." The museum board wishes to thank Dr. John K. Holcomb, Mr. and Mrs. Don Magwitz, St. Francis Medical Center and Dr. Richard Kies for lending their most interesting medical artifacts.

Invitations were sent to the museum membership and other community residents. The mews media were contacted. It is with frustration and disappointment our opening was practically ignored by everyone.

A special thanks to Elane Ertman of the Cash-Book Journal for an outstanding article about the museum and the medical exhibit. Tipoff and this newspaper also gave the exhibit mention.

Is it any wonder that volunteers at the museum ponder why the museum bothers to bring history to the public?

We graciously thank those of you who attended, especially the Holcombs and the Magwitzs for spending several hours awaiting the arrival of viewers.

The exhibit will be showing until fall, so come see not only the medical exhibit, but our history of Cape Girardeau and Missouri exhibits.
