Scott City senior Brandon Shemonia finished 21st out of 369 runners at the Nike Midwest Regionals championship in Terre Haute, Ind.
Shemonia, who won the Class 2 state title earlier this month, covered the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes, 21.1 seconds. The winner, Futsum Zeinasellassie from Indiana, finished in 15:42.8.
Shemonia earned a spot on the all-region third team for his efforts.
Central junior Billy Leighton finished 38th. He crossed the line in 16:27.3.
