SEMO North ousted from state tourney

The SEMO North 14-year-old Babe Ruth baseball team was eliminated from the Babe Ruth state tournament Sunday with an 18-7 loss to Mineral Area.

Mineral Area scored 10 runs in the first inning and eight in the second. All 18 runs were unearned.

Devin Cummins took the loss for SEMO North, which finished 1-2 in the double-elimination tournament in Boonville, Mo.

Ben McCormick had two of SEMO North's six hits. Evan Grindstaff scored two runs.
