OVC ALLOWS AUSTIN PEAY TO WITHDRAW
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Ohio Valley Conference presidents on Monday approved a petition by Austin Peay to remove its football program from conference competition. Monday's action by the OVC presidents allows Austin Peay to continue to compete for conference championships in all sports except football, effective 1997-98.
