The Bobcats used a 22-12 scoring advantage in the first half to beat Oran for the third time this season.

The Bobcats (14-0) were led by Kaci Menz's 11 points. Jodi Menz added nine points along with a team-high nine rebounds, and Ashley Deprow scored nine points.

Oran was led by Erica Michelsen's 19 points.

Scott-Mississippi Conference

Scott County Central and Scott City set up a meeting in tonight's 9 p.m. championship game of the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament for boys basketball.

Tournament host Scott County Central pulled away from East Prairie for a 92-78 victory in Thursday's semifinals, while Scott City used a fast start to subdue Oran 69-55.

Drew Thomas scored 33 points and Caleb Johnson added 30 in Scott County's win. Thomas also had 13 rebounds. Johnson had 11 rebounds and four assists. D.D. Gillespie chipped in with 24 points, including three 3-pointers, for the top-seeded Braves, who improved to 11-4.

The Braves (11-4) led 20-13 after one period but stretched that lead only to eight points, 66-58, after three periods.

Scott City (10-5) led Oran (9-6) by 10 points after one period and built the advantage to 33-19 by halftime.

The Rams had five scorers in double figures, led by Jay Simmons' 17 points. Alex King had 16 points and 17 rebounds, Caleb Estes had 15 points, Rynn Eskew had 11 points, and Jamie Pinkston added 10 points and six assists.

For Oran, Chris Asmus led the way with 18 points, and Robert Lang scored 15 points.

The Eagles will play East Prairie in the third-place game at 6 p.m.

Jackson 47, Dexter 25

Jackson picked up a conference win in a low-scoring game at Dexter.

The Indians (12-6) were led by Spencer Goodman's 10 points.

Dexter, which had no scorers in double figures, led 6-4 after one period but fell behind 18-8 by halftime.

Jackson hit 15 of 18 free throws in the game to seal the win.

Luke Nitsch and Dustin Hubler added 18 apiece for Meadow Heights, which made nine 3-pointers against the team that allowed a national-record 36 3-pointers to the Panthers last season. Tyler Wagner chipped in with 15, and John Long had 11.
