Baseball

• Bell City fall league: Registration for the Bell City fall league will take place Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bell City school cafeteria. There will be two age divisions — 8- and 9-year olds and 10- and 11-year olds. The season begins Sept. 20 and ends Oct. 11. Cost: $40, which includes hat, shirt, baseballs and insurance. Football

• Flag football league: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a youth flag football league for boys ages 5 to 14. Registration will run through today at the A.C. Brase Arena between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Age groups will be 5- and 6-year olds, 7- and 8-year olds, 9- to 11-year olds and 12- to 14-year olds. Cost: $50. Info: Chris Eastridge, 334-2523.
• Youth football: The Jackson Area Youth Football fall signups will take place Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the football complex. Players must be present to be weighed and fitted for equipment. Cost: $100, which includes game jersey. Info: Eric Friedrich, 243-2565 or Ron Hobeck, 243-1311.
• Youth tackle league: The Cape Youth Tackle Football registration will take place Saturday and Aug. 30 at the Osage Community Centre. The league is open to children entering grades 2 to 7, and will teach fundamentals of tackle football. Practices start Sept. 2 and games will be played Sunday afternoons starting Sept. 28 and running through Nov. 2. Registration will run from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 23 and 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 30. Miscellaneous

• 2008 Corporate Games: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host the 2008 Corporate Games from Sept. 14 to 26. The Games will consist of diverse team events to encourage participation from individuals of all interests and abilities. Cost: $350 for Division 1 (100 employees or more); $300 for Division 2 (26 to 99 employees); $250 for Division 3 (25 or fewer employees). Entry forms can be picked up at the A.C. Softball

• Alumni tournament: The Scott City Park Board will host its annual alumni softball tournament meeting today at City Hall. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., and rules will be discussed. The meeting is open to all players. Info: Phyllis, 264-2322 or Scott Holder, 979-1735.
• League registration open: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is accepting teams for the 2008 men's and co-ed fall softball league. The league tentatively is set to start Sept. 8, and games will be played Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Shawnee Park Sports Complex. There will be an upper division doubleheader men's league on Friday nights. Teams will be able to use ASA and NSA approved bats on Friday nights only. Deadline: Aug. 29. Triathlon

• Trail of Tears Triathlon: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor the 19th annual Trail of Tears Triathlon on Sept. 13 at Trail of Tears State Park. The race will consist of a half-mile swim, 15-mile bike ride and 4-mile run. Cost: $35 for individuals, $40 for team if registered by Sept. 1; $45 for individuals, $50 for team after Sept. 1. Day of registration will be an additional $5. All non-UTSA members will be required to purchase a one-day membership for $10. Volleyball

• Church league: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is accepting teams for its church volleyball league, which will start the first week of October. Games will be played Monday nights at the Osage Community Centre. There will be a managers meeting Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Osage Community Centre. Deadline: Sept. 19.
