  • Tour de Cape: The Tour de Cape will take place Oct. 4, starting at the John Boardman Pavilion by the riverfront in Cape Girardeau. Riders can choose from routes of 100 miles, 62 miles, 30 miles or 15 miles, and there will be mass starts at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. The routes will cover terrain that includes flat stretches, rolling hills as well as a few challenging hills.   • March of Dimes scramble: The Bank of Missouri will sponsor a March of Dimes benefit golf scramble for women Monday at the Cape Girardeau Country Club. It is a four-person scramble, with registration/lunch starting at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Cost: $85 per person.   • Trappers convention: The Missouri State Trappers Association will hold its 50th anniversary convention at Arena Park. It will run from Sept. 18 to 21, and the event opens at 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 18.

  • Alumni tournament: The Scott City Park and Recreation Department will sponsor its inaugural tournament for alumni. The divisions will be 35-years old and older and 34-years old and younger. Play will begin Sept. 20 at 9 a.m. at Scott City Ball Park. Team managers must drop off rosters to city hall, Tanks or the park office by Sept. 16. Cost: $10 per player. Tennis

  • Wood 'n' Whites tournament: The Cape Area Tennis Association will host its annual Wood 'n' Whites tournament Sept. 27 at the Southeast Missouri State tennis facility. The doubles tournament is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The age of the partners must total 90 years, players must wear all white and they must play with wooden rackets. Cost: $60 per team. Triathlon

  • Trail of Tears Triathlon: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor the 19th annual Trail of Tears Triathlon on Saturday at Trail of Tears State Park. The race will consist of a half-mile swim, 15-mile bike ride and 4-mile run. Cost: $45 for individuals, $50 for team. Day of registration will be an additional $5. Volleyball

  • Co-ed leagues: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is accepting teams for its co-ed volleyball leagues, which will start Oct. 7. There will be Tuesday night leagues and Wednesday nights leagues at the Osage Community Centre. There will be a competitive league and a non-competitive league each night. There will be a managers meeting Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Osage Community Centre. Deadline: Sept. 19. Cost: $245, which covers officials, awards, T-shirts and equipment.
