Olympic boxing
Showcasing the Olympics boxing where men are allowed to pummel women is one flew over the cuckoo nest crazy. Something has got to get this world back on track because it is off the rails.
Trump-Harris debate
Trump was boasting about debating Biden anytime, anywhere, but now he’s running away and hiding from Kamala Harris because he’s terrified of her. He knows she would mop the floor with his substantial rear end in a debate so now he wants to do a Town Hall meeting on Fox Entertainment with Fox flunkies hosting and a Fox-friendly audience. This is the action of a failing candidate grasping at straws.
D.E.I choice
Biden says Harris was not a D.E.I choice for the vice presidency, I disagree, she is D.E.I. Dumb Embarrassing Idiot. She fit right in with Biden.
Polio epidemic
The recent article by Sharon Sanders about the 1949 polio epidemic brought back some bad memories of a time most people don't remember or never really heard of. Compared to the big polio epidemics of the late '40s and '50s, COVID registers as not much more than common flu. With COVID most people recovered fully and went on to normal life. COVID didn't cause a lot of fear, but polio caused absolute terror, a great many people did not recover, and life after was far different. With polio, you either lived or died, the only question beyond that was how extensive the damage was. There was no real treatment, only support to try to save your life. Among the people mentioned in the article were many doctors and local officials, but the two people leading the effort at the ground level were Raymond Ritchey and Louise Steimle. Ritchey was the rehabilitation department at Saint Francis, ably aided by Steimly as his nurse. Both are largely forgotten today, but a lot of people had far better lives because of their work in preparing polio victims for life with handicaps. Much of who we are and became are due to these two forgotten heroes.
Refund Trump?
Poor little Donny Trump. He thinks he should get a refund on his anti-Biden ads now that Biden has dropped out of the race. What a big crybaby!
