The far left must be frustrated. The surge strategy was brilliant and continues to meet our strategic goals even though leftists scoffed at and mocked the plan. Our troops continue to succeed thanks, in part, to funding allocated by a Democrat-controlled Congress whose 2006 pre-election promise was to cut off funding and end the war.

As we pay $4 a gallon, Nancy Pelosi and her majority went on vacation instead of debating an energy relief bill. The Democrats' once much lauded 100-hour agenda failed to come to fruition, the global warming debate has lost steam (pun intended), liberal calls for presidential impeachment were stopped cold by Democrats themselves, and the Democrat-controlled Congress enjoys a 13 percent approval rating. Congressional leftists even offered and passed their own version of a domestic spying bill while hypocritically decrying President Bush's executive efforts as unconstitutional.

The leftist majority has failed to move us any closer to an effective immigration policy or health care reform or offered a comprehensive plan for extending the life of Social Security. They continue to facilitate the very gridlock in Washington they promised to end.

And the mother of all leftist frustrations: The 2008 presidential race is a virtual tie as the left's unproven, albeit eloquent, media-darling candidate can't pull away from the right's tired old war hero.

The right has its own issues, but we're in a relative state of utopia compared to the left. To steal a phrase from the leftist bumper sticker, I ask: Had enough?
