I had the good fortune to attend the "Sing, America, Sing" concert in Cape Girardeau last Saturday night. It was a marvelous production headed up by Mike Dumey, music teacher at Central Junior High School. This talented troupe of students took the audience by surprise with its amazing singing and choreography. The energy with which the performers surrounded the audience was electric. Their songs were beautifully done. The mixture of humor and sensitivity to the peril that made this country great was personified in their music. I was so moved by the rendition of "America the Beautiful." This is a must-see production and a true opportunity for all to thrill to the songs that made this country great.
