To the editor:
The students and staff of Teen Challenge International of Mid-America would like to express our thanks to all our friends in Cape Girardeau, Jackson and the surrounding area for their wonderful support during our strawberry season. We had a tremendous season during which you purchased more than 30,500 quarts of strawberries.
I especially want to thank you for your tremendous patience, particularly at the first of the season. I know how much you wanted to get a taste of that delicious fruit, but due to the demand you often had to wait in line or, even worse, went away empty-handed when we ran out. Please know we did our best to get the strawberries to you with our staff and students often picking seven to nine hours a day.
Strawberries are done. But if you like blueberries, we have them beginning this week. If not, we will see you in May of next year for more scrumptious strawberries.
JACK SMART, Executive Director (and Strawberry Salesman),
Teen Challenge International of Mid-America,
Cape Girardeau
