To the editor: I continue to see signs that declare "I support President Bush and the troops" which infer that the two things are the same and that not supporting the administration is equivalent to undercutting our military. Overwhelming evidence demonstrates that the opposite is true: that supporting our president means embracing policies that are not beneficial to our troops...

I continue to see signs that declare "I support President Bush and the troops" which infer that the two things are the same and that not supporting the administration is equivalent to undercutting our military.

Not content with morale-breaking actions like cutting veterans' benefits, provoking the enemy to "bring it on" and making tours of duty indefinite in length, the administration now proposes to cut imminent-danger pay. But what do you expect from a man who refused to take drug tests and was AWOL during his stint in the National Guard? I support the troops by opposing President Bush.
