The Poplar Bluff Museum will take a step back in time this weekend to mark Butler County's sesquicentennial. Those who stop by today or tomorrow will be able to get their cards, envelopes and even the back of old photographs stamped with a postal cancellation depicting the county's 150 years.
Appropriately the work will be done in the museum's Postal Room.
This is a nice way for the county to mark such a noteworthy occasion.
Mail carriers and postmasters have kindly agreed to work at the temporary postal station from 3-6 p.m. both days.
Those who are unable to attend the event can submit their cancellation requests by mail within 30 days.
This is a great way for Butler County to make its stamp in time official.
