I'M GLAD you asked what I think about Mike Royko. Interestingly enough he was on the front page of The Wall Street Journal last week, and many other readers are concerned about whether or not he is appropriate. Thanks for asking. I would just as soon you got rid of him.
IT IS doubtful that the council members in Cape Girardeau would give us some honest answers as to why they don't want quality, qualified electricians working in our community. It is doubtful because there can be no reason other than personal gain or loss or the possibility that they lack any knowledge of the precise nature of electrical work. As an electrician I deal constantly with people spending large sums for service work to repair what wasn't done right originally. Melvin Gately told me personally that he thought the electrical code was essential before the first vote. Now he can't decide. But the one that really gets us is Jack Rickard. He is in the building trade.
I'D LIKE to say I fully support Sen. Peter Kinder and his efforts to remove Gov. Carnahan and Robert Bartman from the team that's going over the desegregation program. After the latest shenanigans that Carnahan pulled along with Bartman, he no longer deserves to sit on any board that would have public funds being dispersed to someone like that. After all, he did give us the largest tax increase in the history of Missouri, and nobody has been able to do anything about it. This is ridiculous.
I KNEW it was just a matter of time before someone got hurt by that spraying operation for weeds along roads and highways. I was following the spray truck on Bloomfield when the driver of the warning truck flagged me around. As I attempted to pass I saw a pickup coming straight at me and I swerved back in just the knick of time stuck between the two vehicles. Somebody needs to improve this situation before someone is killed.
I HAVE an idea how to keep the weeds and grass cut along the highways and interstates. Let's give the people who are on welfare a pair of scissors and have them cut the weeds and grass. They would at least earn their welfare check and not have it handed to them for doing nothing while the rest of us are working and trying to earn a living. I am tired of taking care of them, and I think it's time the government wakes up and does something about these bums. Thank you.
