I AGREE with the caller on Feb. 13 regarding the articles that are placed on different pages. Let's lose the color and put the pages in sequence instead of finishing a story on page 9 when it originally started on page 10. We can do without the color, but I hate to start looking through the paper to try to find out where the rest of the article is.
I JUST want to make a comment to the person who couldn't understand why people didn't refer to Slick Willie Clinton as Mr. Clinton. I'll tell you why. When boys like mine were fighting in Vietnam, he and Jane Fonda were collaborating with the communists. To me he is a traitor and he deserve to sit in the seat where George Bush set. He's no good and never will be. I was raised in Arkansas where he was governor, and he ruined that state. It would take 100 years to get out from under all the taxation he's put on them. He's no good and will never be called Mr. by me.
I'D LIKE to say thank God for the two nice young gentlemen who changed my flat tire at the station on William Street Sunday night. It was very cold, and I wanted to thank them again. Thanks, guys.
I'M CALLING in regards to the comment on the baseball strike and the air traffic controllers. First of all, get your facts straight. The air traffic controllers where federal employees, and it was illegal for them to strike. Baseball is a private organization. Second of all, the comments regarding Ronald Reagan are rude and intolerable. It doesn't take much of an individual to attack a man when he is down. If you can't learn to respect your elders, learn to respect your better, which he is.
I KIND of like the new weather on KFVS, but I also like to be able to see the whole country at one time and get an idea of what the weather pattern is doing. It would be nice to see what is going on in Maine at the same time you're looking at what is going on in California.
I WOULD just like to say that I agree with the caller who said Sam Blackwell was a good writer. I think he is the best writer you have, followed closely by Bill Heitland.
I ENJOYED the Presidents Day insert in today's paper. But it is too bad that Southeast Missouri State University doesn't observe the holiday. We will be in school as usual. We just get out for such important things as Martin Luther King Day but not for President's Day.
SO RUSSIA is helping Iran repair and build their nuclear power plants. Where are the politicians' priorities. The U.S. government is giving money for aid to Russia, and Russia is turning it around and helping Iran. Come on people, get a life. In other words, U.S. taxpayers are building Iran's nuclear power plants. It's as simple as ABC.
I WOULD like to know if there is a city ordinance about fire hazards. We have such a problem in my neighborhood. There is a three-car garage, two of which are mine, the other a neighbor's. The neighbor's is filled with junk which if it would catch on fire would my garage and my car. Please, if there is not a city ordinance, make one before I lose some of my property.
I DIDN'T believe KFVS-TV could get any worse but it has. Even though they have dressed it up a little bit, they still give the same old tired news.
I WOULD like to say I hope that everyone that voted for the mayor in Cape Girardeau is happy, because he will have them on the poor farm before he gets out.
