First the boat...

WELL, WE'VE got that boat and now we're getting a hoochie-coochie club right here in Cape. I don't believe Jesus or Elvis would very happy about this if they were alive today.

A small step

HURRAH AND thank God for Republicans. Imagine our tax dollars won't be going to pay the salaries and expenses of unnecessary people and programs that the Democrats surrounded themselves with for 40 years for their own personal use and gain. That's a small step, but it's a good one. I feel liberated already.

Connie and Dan

CONNIE CHUNG lied about Newt Gingrich's mother, and if she would lie to an old lady, you know she's going to lie on the news. We know that Dan Rather lies, so what are we to believe when they tell us things on the news?

The band is missed

I REALLY miss Cape Central's band in the morning. They really made me feel good about our young people.

Only a figurehead

EXCEPT FOR the power of the veto, the president of the United States is merely a figurehead, in my opinion. I am not the least bit interested in what Bill Clinton has to say. I am much more interested in what our Congress has to say.

Murderer's rights

A MURDERER should lose all his rights just like his dead victim. When his dead victim's rights are returned to him is when the murderer should have any rights, which is never.

Pre-empting unpopular

IT IS so discouraging to sit down to watch your favorite program only to find it replaced by a basketball game. You should think of the nursing home people and those in the hospital who look forward to a evening of entertainment and who just turn the TV off when the ball games are on there.

THIS IS to KFVS 12. What the heck do you think you're doing by pre-empting a prime-time season premiere with a stupid basketball game?

Another sin coming in

SO THEY want to set up a topless bar. The devil is sure at work. But we have plenty of Christians in this town to protest otherwise. Now as far as Dale Dillard is concerned, the owner of the business next to this supposed bar, all you have to do is put up a no-parking sign. This will be a heck of a lot cheaper than fencing that in. Now this topless thing, I just see it as another sin think coming in.

Good shows off

IT'S A wonderful time of year when they take off the good shows and put on the basketball games. We didn't even get to see the Christmas Disney parade because of some so-called special show. Well, anyway, happy New Year.

A big to-do

IT'S HARD for me to believe that people can be so cheap about a measly three-cent stamp. My gosh, making a big to-do out of that when they could have bought a 32-cent stamp and mailed their letter today and gotten it over with. How many of those people would stoop to pick up a penny on the sidewalk? I bet not very many of them would.

Newt started it

IF NEWT Gingrich does not want his mother to repeat what he says, then I think he better not say it the first time. That remark only shows what a vicious person he is.

A little Las Vegas

IS CAPE trying to be a little Las Vegas with a topless bar, gambling, homicide and divorce? Is this the Cape I know as a respected college town? If I were a parent, I would weigh heavily my decision to send my child to college here. This town has lost its clean image if people don't do something to curtail it.

NAFTA pesos?

I WAS listening to a radio broadcast yesterday that stated Bill Clinton has sent Mexico $9 billion to prop up the peso. I was just wondering if this $9 billion to Mexico is a result of NAFTA? Is this the way that this is going to help the American taxpayer, by proving NAFTA? I think not. What are our politicians thinking of and where are their priorities?
