I GUESS this is an act of kindness that I'm doing. I bought a plant and potted it and took it to a friend just to give it to her as a gift. And now I'm baking a pie for some of the young folks who are graduating from high school from our church. So I'm going to give it to them so they'll have it this evening.
I COMMEND the new recycling program that is adding new materials for pickup. I have taken newspapers, glass and just about everything that was recyclable to the center for years, using plastic bags to carry it in. I am crippled, I use a cane and it is impossible for me to carry large paper bags to carry newspapers, magazines, glass and so forth from my car to the trash containers. Plastic bags do give me a hold with one free hand for transport. Now I notice they are not acceptable. Any suggestions?
I WISH to thank the couple who voluntarily met me at the Wal-Mart garden center and hauled four bags of mulch and four bags of top soil to my house. Their kindness was very much appreciated.
SEWING LADIES of Bethany Baptist Church donated bed clothing and stuffed toys to a family who had a burnout.
CONSISTENCE REPLACES random. A retired gentleman on our street, a regular morning walker, consistently does acts of kindness. Not for a day, not for a week, not for a month, not for a year, but each and every day. Each day, this gentleman picks up the morning paper and places it right at the door of the widowed, the elderly, the disabled and anyone who needs help. You know and we know who you are, but we just want you to know that we appreciate your kindness, thoughtfulness and giving of yourself to others. God's blessings for the times you are there. Come rain, snow, ice and cold, you are always there to help. You passed random deeds of kindness many, many years ago. Thank you much.
