Undermining our morals

THERE ARE two things that are undermining the moral and cultural superiority of this nation. The first one is the wholesale murder of babies. I refuse to be silent concerning the horror they call abortion. This mutilation and murder of tiny babies is killing on demand. Each day, tiny, living babies are torn to pieces, burnt with chemicals, sucked into sinks or thrown in the trash. Society must continually be reminded of this outrage. The truth changes minds. More minds need to be changed. The second thing is homosexuality. This is an abnormal, perverted lifestyle people choose to live. Homosexual activists are trying to force public acceptance of this perversion. We must continue to resist. In some cases this filthy activity represents a threat to public health. Continuing education about this bondage must not waver. Remember, God has made many ex-homosexuals.

Taxing for greed

AL GORE'S name is Duplicity. What a devious posturer. To proclaim he is for the working men and women is the biggest lie yet. He and Clinton have forced the highest taxes ever imposed on the American people to pay for their greedy global ambitions.

Disgruntled GOP

I WOULD just like to comment on these bloodthirsty Republicans. After all the trials and all the independent counsels and everything, they found nothing about Whitewater or perjury anything else in the Clintons, and they are still out for blood. What do those people want? Why do they intend on ruining people's lives just because they had enough guts were honest enough people to come in and turn this country around? There are so disgruntled people because some old Republican like Bob Dole isn't in the White House to put up bank accounts for all the rich people to starve the poor people to death like they were doing 12 years ago.

It won't help

SO BILL Clinton is tapping into the oil reserves in this country in order to further Al Gore's chances of getting in the White House. This will only save a matter of a few pennies to the consumers. If Clinton and Gore want to do anything to help this energy situation, they should let this people open up these oil fills here in this country. But they are against new drilling, especially offshore drilling. They have done nothing the past eight years to improve the energy crisis in this country. Now just before election he taps into the energy reserves. This is for emergencies only.

None of our business

I KIND of chuckle when I read continuing comments about he Hillary Clinton-Lazio Senate race in New York in the Speak Out column here in Cape comments which are mostly anti-Hillary, I might add. As a native New Yorker now in our fourth year here in Cape, my wife and I have a message for all of you right-wing conservative blue-blood Republicans. Who the state of New York elects to the Senate is none of your business. He or she will not represent us or you. They will represent the constituents and interests of those who elected them in New York. We are moderate Democrats and will vote a straight Democratic Party on Election Day. But then that is none of your business anyway.

Good job, Bill

CONGRATULATIONS TO President Clinton for helping the average Joe by tapping some of the nation's petroleum reserves. There seems to be a broad consensus favoring President Clinton's action. About the only one's opposed are the government of Saudi Arabia, Saddam Hussein and the Republican Party.

Nice try, but ...

THE WHISTLING-in-the-wind award for this week's Speak Out commentator goes to the one who passionately urged area sports coaches to de-emphasize winning.

Caps in restaurant

I WOULD like to make a comment. I was over here at Cape Girardeau a few months back and was surprised to see how many men went to a nice restaurant and never took their baseball caps off.
