I love living in Cape Girardeau. So many nice people. I hope everyone has a great day today. May your heart be full of generosity, appreciation and joy. By loving others, we live Christ's example.
So 1,400 people were killed by nerve gas in Syria. I'm wondering how many unborn babies were slaughtered in that amount of time here in America in the name of abortion.
The Republican representative from Sikeston compared our governor to the Nazis. I would say that Republicans in the Legislature are like Robin Hoods in reverse; they take from the poor and give to the rich.
Cape had a great turnout for the SEMO District Fair parade. While we appreciate everyone who participated in the parade, those of us who use Capaha Park every day for walking and exercise do not appreciate the litter you left behind. There were hundreds of water bottles and candy wrappers and also horse manure. Please clean up your litter next time.
In regard to the mail being delivered late, one of the problems is that the mailmen spend too much time talking on their routes. Maybe the postmaster should look into that.
I have a suggestion to the post office about saving money. They can take away those people who follow the mailmen around with a stopwatch and clipboard. What purpose does that serve, and how much do they get paid?
It looks like Parks and Recreation missed two great weekends to have Cape Splash open after Labor Day. It looks like this coming weekend's weather is going to be nice as well. Thanks, Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation.
Fair entertainment
I get a kick out of Speak Out complaints criticizing the scions of the SEMO District Fair for choosing one particular band over another for entertaining the masses who attend. A recent commentator bashed the choice of Three Dog Night when Lynyrd Skynyrd may have been available. I don't see that as such a big deal, although I would say there might have been at least a bit more controversy if the fair barons and baronesses had chosen Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus.
Obama, Syria
My hat is off to you, President Obama. That was a brilliant bit of military brinkmanship that led Syria to cave, come to the table and agree to the chemical weapons treaty and chemical weapons ban.
