There are so many Americans today who are part African-American and part European-American. And it's time to quit worrying about it. It's time to just all be Americans. But in the meantime, until we get to that point, we need to have plenty of African-American police officers who can communicate with the African-American community and make them feel that the police are here to save us and to keep us safe.
Regarding the Fruitland sewer project, I live in the Fruitland area and have a 22-year-old septic system. And I've never had it pumped out. I maintain it monthly and know the laterals work because of the way the grass grows. Water District No. 1 has a deep cased well and serves the whole area. So, I fail to see how a poorly maintained septic system could affect our water. I know some businesses want sewers, but why should private property owners have to pay for sewer lines for them, plus a monthly sewer bill? People on a fixed income just cannot afford this, plus several thousand dollar plumbers' bills to connect their homes to the trunk line.
