The American Academy of Pediatrics discourages media use by children younger than the age of 2 and recommends limiting older children's screen time to no more than one to two hours a day. This is because too much screen time has been linked to irregular sleep, behavior problems, impaired academic performance, violence and obesity. I don't understand how having more laptop devices distributed to children in elementary and middle school is going to help this recommendation. How will parents and schools work together to ensure that our children's screen time stays under two hours per day?
