SIGH. After slogging through all 25,000 of Sarah Palin's emails when she was governor, I became so nostalgic for the Sarah of old, the time when she was competent. I congratulate the city for repairs being done at the Central Municipal Pool. But as I drive by I see the tall lights burning day and night. I wonder will it be possible to turn those lights off during daylight? That must use a lot of electricity. Hopefully this can be rectified soon...

The competent Palin

SIGH. After slogging through all 25,000 of Sarah Palin's emails when she was governor, I became so nostalgic for the Sarah of old, the time when she was competent.

Turn off lights

I congratulate the city for repairs being done at the Central Municipal Pool. But as I drive by I see the tall lights burning day and night. I wonder will it be possible to turn those lights off during daylight? That must use a lot of electricity. Hopefully this can be rectified soon.

Extreme couponers

IF you are one of those "extreme couponers" who keep stealing the inserts out of the Sunday paper in Jackson newspaper vending machines, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. There are few less irritating things than getting home and not having half of my reason for buying a paper. Greed and thievery are not desirable characteristics.

GOP perspective

REPUBLICANS say Obama has been out of touch on the economy for the past two years. They are forgetting that they have themselves been out of touch with the economy for the past 10 years. And they will never learn, as they cannot look past their own pocketbooks.

Fumble

IT would be funny if it wasn't such a serious situation, watching President Obama fumble around trying to come up with some way to get people back to work. He spouts all kinds of stimulating rhetoric, because as a liberal, he thinks that words mean the same as actions. I'm sure he is quite puzzled as to why, once he proclaims the economy is getting better, it doesn't. The problem with the economy is President Obama! He and his liberal cronies want to tax the producers so that they can hand over the money to the nonproducers so that the nonproducers will vote for them, which they will.

Theft from victim

THIS is to the people who found it necessary to steal a lawnmower and two rolls of brand new welded wire fence from a flooded out family in Dutchtown, our family hopes that you sleep well at night knowing that you stole what little stuff they had left after the flood. We needed those things and you took them! Shame on you! Also beware that you have been reported so you may want to put them back before you get caught!

Help at home

IT really is a shame that the Family Resource Center is closing. I find it very sad that we have people in this community that will go above and beyond to help the people in Africa (don't get me wrong, it is wonderful) but we have a problem in Cape. It is right here at home. We could take all of those donations and use them right here to help the people that need it. Many don't see the problems that we have here in Cape because they choose not to. I have seen the pictures of the children in Africa and they are heartbreaking. But those same pictures are here as well. We really should try to work together to do something for Cape. It is a great place to live and raise a family. But not all of us are that fortunate.

Experience, please

I'M a local teenager that's looking for work. Everywhere I apply, I apply at fast food joints, everywhere I can think of, and everybody wants experience. How am I to get the experience that I need to work if no one gives me a chance to?

Babies for welfare

I read in the paper yesterday about Miss Carla had to work with the disadvantaged children, now going into teaching. I agree with her very much on the children and she mentioned the real problem but she didn't have any suggestions or it didn't seem like anything was being done to correct the real problem and the real problem is the parents. Many parents are having these children, these babies only for welfare checks. They don't care anything about the child, they don't care anything about taking care of the child. They're only wanting the check that the taxpayers are paying so that they'll send them this money and this is ridiculous. Unless they are physically or mentally disabled, they don't deserve a welfare check if they won't do what they should do as far as the children are concerned.

Parties, properties

THIS is a response to the person who says "let them party" in Thursday's Speak Out. You wouldn't have the same feelings if you were living right next door to the where the party was. Everybody thinks everything's OK as long as it doesn't affect them. But if these partiers are having this party until 2 or 3 in the morning and screaming and hollering and drinking beer and throwing trash and peeing in your yard, you'd have a whole different view about what's going on. People need to respect other people's property and other people's lives. You're wrong on this.

Newt's marriage

NEWT Gingrich needs to just continue on with his little trophy wife, draping her with diamonds from Tiffany instead of considering the presidency of the United States of America. You can't even relate to us and our problems, man.

Community search

I'D just like to say that I wish the people in our community could get together and do a big search for Jacque Waller like we see on the news. So many people go missing and people in the community get out, search the places they were last seen and do it as a group, massive. That's the only way she's going to be found. There's too many places to search. We need to get together as a community and help our police force in finding her. If this happens, look at the news everyday. If we need to get the national news in here to look at it, let's do it. If we don't need them, let's just get out as a community and help these people find their daughter, the mother of these children and make the person responsible pay, don't let them walk away. Please, somebody organize a group effort. You'd be surprised at the number of people you would get to come out and help.
