Music, sports tax

I saw on the news that the schools are losing their music programs and other schools are cutting back on their sports and other activities. I propose that we have a tax on every CD and every concert ticket for any musical group, whether it be rap or country or even opera or any of those. Have a dollar or two go toward music programs for high schools throughout the county. I also believe NFL and Major League Baseball, basketball and hockey, they ought to add a dollar or two onto their tickets and have that go to high schools for sports programs. When you think how many billions of dollars the NFL makes and all the other pro sports, they should give back to high school sports.

Health care premiums

A recent survey of 148 insurance brokers shows that Obamacare is sending premiums rising at the fastest clip in decades. This is solid information. It is a fact that premiums are going up faster than ever, but you have Obama still lying about the Affordable Care Act making insurance more affordable than it ever has been. He needs to stop reading his teleprompter and take a step into reality. I guess he thinks he is so important that people will believe him no matter what the facts are. It's worked so far, hasn't it?

Time for Pulitzer

Sometimes I wonder if it has even been nominated. I am very disappointed that the Pulitzer Prize for Journalism has never gone to the Speak Out forum.

Clean street

I appreciate the city of Jackson using aggregate during the winter months to help with the snow and ice. Is the city going to come and get this off the streets sometime soon?

Marxist government

Is there no end to the length of the damage that this ideologue president and this cabal of left-wing liberals Democrats will go to destroy this country?

President Obama

He saved the economy. He ended one unnecessary war and is ending another. He passed landmark health care legislation. He lowered the federal deficit. He aggressively fights against voter suppression and is working overtime to save the middle class. He is fighting for a much needed raise in the minimum wage. Characterwise, he is a wonderful family man. I could go on and on but think this more than suffices for the refutation of a radical Speak Out comment claiming President Obama has done nothing.

An app for spending

I'm glad there are apps that teach kids how to save money, but really, if we're ever going to get this economy moving again, they need some apps that teach students how to spend it.
