I want to comment about the idea of raising minimum wage to over $10. You know, I don't think this is enough. I think it should be $25. But it should only be applied in the North -- the way the North applied the morale tariff to the south which got the Civil War started. They were going to put a 48 percent tax on any shipping that went out of New Orleans or Savannah. So let's turn around, you know, what goes around, comes around. Why don't New York, Massachusetts, states like that, Illinois, they can have a $25 minimum wage. It would be wonderful. After all turnabout is fair play. I'd like to see that, and it would really help businesses stay up there and there could be lots more rules put on the businesses.
Mr. Sullivan, I totally agree with your article about the Missouri flag being changed. It is ridiculous, not just because it's Cape Girardeau and we're proud of it and everything. It is history. We do not change history. It is our flag, period.
I just went to Capaha Park and dropped off a flag at the flag disposal mailbox there, and it is completely full. I don't know who would be responsible for maybe emptying it and disposing of the flags properly. Could this be checked out?
About the poll question on supporting an ordinance on banning smoking in all restaurants, I don't think that would be right. I would not support it. We're supposed to be a free country, but we're getting more communism every day. I don't like this. If you don't like the smoke, get out of the kitchen.
I think there ought to not be no more federal judges. These judges are not elected into office. And they're appointed into office by their friends. Look at this gay deal, where they can go into your restaurant and force you to make a cake. Well, what would happen if a Ku Klux Klan member went into a black bakery and demanded a Ku Klux Klan cake?
The Missouri state flag is a very classy-looking flag. The proposed new flag to replace it looks like something a kid in grade school painted. I would think that the people we sent to Jeff City would have more important things to do than waste time and our tax dollars on this.
Before MoDOT and Scott City spend any more money on an interchange near Route PP, they need to finish the interchange at Scott City, East Outer Road and Rock Levee Road. It does not have guardrails. It's just a matter of time before someone gets killed. The guardrails will be less expensive than the lawsuit that will follow.
Bullying. How can we teach bullying is wrong, when our president is doing it? If things don't go his way, he threatens to use his pen and his phone. Our freedoms are being taken away from us little by little. What are we going to do when we wake up and have none?
I'm just seeing Harry Reid on television calling American people who have lost their insurance and lost their doctors and lost their hospitals, calling them barefaced liars. He is the biggest jerk in this country next to the president, who is cutting the military. What are we going to do one of these days in the not-too-distant future when either China or Iran or North Korea decides to take us on and we're not going to have the men and women to fight them back? I hope Obama's right there on the front line.
