Firing up teachers

NORTH ELEMENTARY School in Jackson has high testing, and I don't think any teachers have voluntarily left because of the testing. In fact, they're stronger and doing a good job. There were parents willing to put some fire under some teachers. It's when the parents stand up and say they want quality education that you have quality education in one form or another. Passing the buck to the kids is easy enough, but having those kids ready for MAP testing is their responsibility, and the state knows this.

Good food makes me fat

CONGRESS, AS far as I know, doesn't subsidize too much for me, and it doesn't matter to me what Congress subsidizes anyway because I'm going to eat my chocolate and drink my whole milk. I'm going to enjoy my life while I'm here on earth. Congress has nothing to do with my being overweight, but all the good food in America does. And guess what? When I got fat, it wasn't necessarily on junk food like potato chips. It was food festivals. I just had a little bit too much fun.

Eating like hogs

BEING FAT is not a disease. Experts try to lay everything on a disease. They said smoking was a disease. Smoking is a habit, just like drinking beer is a habit. They like it or they wouldn't do it. I quit drinking. I quit smoking. Why? Because it tore my health all to pieces. If I can quit, you can quit. The reason people are fat today is they eat like hogs.

Don't appease terrorists

OF COURSE the whole country wants peace, but does anyone think the terrorists want peace? Brave men fight for freedom. They don't appease terrorists. Appeasement brings more terrorism. Those who say no to war are only interested in political power, just like the new Socialist leader in Spain.

Wackos get ideas

I DON'T think Terry Nichols needs another trial on TV. It gives more wackos ideas. It's like when there's one shooting, then there is shooting after shooting. Sometimes these people are just better locked away.

Take care with drugs

WHEN A doctor puts you on an antidepressant, he doesn't know if it's the right kind for you, because nobody's body is the same. Please watch for side effects, because drugs can lead you back into a deeper depression if you don't pay attention. It happened to me, but I didn't see it. Other people did. Drugs can be helpful if given right. Just be aware and pay attention.
