Check your roof
After reading the story in Sunday's paper about the power bills in Jackson, I must weigh in with my stats. We live in a home built around 1960 that has 3,600 square feet and very drafty metal windows. Our roof is very well insulated and our home is about the last one that has the snow melt on it. But our windows are extremely drafty. We keep our thermostat no lower than 65 at night and when we are gone. When we are home, it's around 68. Both my husband and I sit in front of tall space heaters when it's cool. Our December utility bill was $158, January $175 and February $165. We live right in the heart of Jackson. Maybe you ought to have your roofs checked for escaping heat.
Not 'we'
Someone mentioned "we" murdered 55 million babies through abortion. No, the mother of the baby did, not "we." And as far as Social Security lost because of this, how many working class people die before the age of 62? Might want to think about that.
Purple Hearts
I was wondering if John Kerry is going to show Putin his two Purple Hearts and tell him he was in Vietnam and try to scare him.
Winter travel
I had to go to the doctor yesterday, and she gave me a prescription to be filled. So I went to Wal-Mart to get my prescription. Well, when I got there, boy, the place was filled with parents and their children. I asked somebody, I said, "Did they have school today?" And they said, "No, it was canceled." I thought, for crying out loud. The kids can't make it to school, but they can make it to Wal-Mart and other places to go shopping. Something doesn't seem right, does it?

Ukraine, guns
In regard to the situation going on in the Ukraine right now, I'd like to know when was it that their government first registered and then confiscated all the privately owned firearms. Anybody out there know?
Refuse to testify
I think all the U.S. citizens here in the United States ought to take a page from the head of the I.R.S. who refused to testify. Just don't pay your taxes. Then, when you get audited, just take the Fifth like she does.
Girl Scouts, abortion
I would like to make a comment to the Christians. Do you know that portions of the money that the Girl Scouts make off these cookies, a portion of it goes to Planned Parenthood? Remember Planned Parenthood is the place where they abort the babies.
Clinton at state
I'm a Republican, but I can't keep from wishing that Hillary Clinton was still our secretary of state. At least we'd have an intelligent person on the job.
