She has experience

I JUST read the comment in Speak Out regarding how Jean Carnahan had been involved in her husband's political career and consequently has the background to be successful in the U.S. Senate. I agree. When Missourians visit Washington, D.C., I am sure her experience as a tour guide at the Missouri governor's mansion will be a benefit as she gives tours at the U.S. Capitol. No doubt she will probably be the hostess with the most elegantly set table and a set up dining room. I'll bet her menus will also make Missourians proud. I did sway more toward the Democratic Party just because I was raised that way. But as I grow and learn, things change. I am very sad to say that the last two elections I voted for Clinton. What a disgrace. I am very proud to say that this time I voted for Bush.

Military leaning

CALM DOWN, folks. All this hysteria about the ballot recount in Florida will be a moot point when the absentee military vote is in. Being a veteran myself, I have talked to a lot of vets and active-duty servicemen over the past eight years. I am hard-pressed to remember any of them who did not despise the Clinton-Gore administration. God bless and save our military so it might save us from Gore.
