THIS IS to the owners and the managers of fast-food restaurants. Please remind employees to put napkins in the to-go orders either through the window or at the counter. It is very frustrating when you are eating and need a napkin and there is none in the bag.

I THOUGHT the Richard Nixon dirty tricks of the Republican Party had ceased, but I see it hasn't. It just moved south to Florida. How shameful for the country.

Happy with recount

I'D SAY about the only one happy about this presidential recount has got to be Firestone Tire Co.

Look at the record

LET'S LOOK at the record. Gore says he is a family man even though he is for abortion. He is absolutely for separation of church and state but goes to the Buddhist temple to get money to run for office. He claims to be staunchly democratic but gets millions from communist China. After being caught, he gave $3 million back to them and said he didn't know it was against the law. If he didn't know, he has no business being president.

Plenty to do

GET RID of the Electoral College. This election should have been about the popular vote. There should be another election for presidency in Florida with new ballots. Gore has and should get a recount in Florida to find out who is our next president.

Quit the foolishness

WOULD YOU right-wing Republicans please quit your foolishness in describing how John Ashcroft was so nice in giving the office to Jean Carnahan. Al Gore lost Florida without a total and honest recount by a total of 537 votes. Ashcroft lost in Missouri by over 30,000 votes.

Thanks for the purse

I WANTED to thank someone for turning in my purse in Wal-Mart. It was in the shopping cart outside, and they turned it in and everything was in there. I just wanted to say God bless you and have a merry Christmas and thank you.

Misunderstandings

EVERY TIME I start feeling upbeat about the intelligence of the people in Southeast Missouri, I read one of these Speak Out comments from some of the Democrat callers. They are filled with misunderstandings, misstatements and outright lies. If these people ever want to get elected to anything, they are going to have to start telling the truth -- if they know what the truth is.

Not one fact right

IN RESPONSE to "GOP shenanigans": It is just amazing you do not have one fact right. Why should we believe or expect the truth from any Democrat?

Teaching about meth

I'D LIKE to maker a comment about the teacher having the young children learn about meth and how it is made. What benefit is that to an 8-year-old or 9-year-old? Wouldn't it be better to teach reading, writing and arithmetic? Seems like everyone wants to get on television.

Just blowing smoke

I AM glad Bush is going to be president. Now I will get my tax cut and my 401(k) plan will go sky high and the stock market will go sky high. I hate to say it, but David Limbaugh is just blowing smoke again like always.
