Parents not in control
I FEEL the Jackson School District is going too far in the discipline of the kids today. A lot of it should be put on the responsibility of the parents, not the school. Most parents don't care what their kids are doing today as long as they stay out of their hair and let them continue their successful careers. People should be glad teen girls are taking time to get birth control. If the parents don't care about teen pregnancy issues enough to make sure their daughters are on protection, then more power to the teens who take the issue in their own hands.
It's just safer
IN RESPONSE to the comment about the roundabout intersection needing four-way stop signs because it is busy: Roundabouts are for busy intersections. Go to the East Coast or West Coast sometime to a large city with a population 10 times that of Cape. You'll see that the archaic stop signs would not work. They hardly work in Cape anymore with the number of people who think "Stop" means "Yield". I couldn't begin to tell you how many cars I see in this town not even hit their brakes at a stop sign. At least with a roundabout they have to slow down, and safety is increased.
Keeps traffic low
ONE OF the most effective traffic control devices is the roundabout, as most of us will drive around and about to avoid one.
Not to blame
I'M SO tired of hearing this or that president helped or hurt the economy. They are not to blame. We have a world economy. It will be good. It will be bad. When will these biased political junkies wake up to the fact that no one person makes or breaks the financial situation? Many things encourage or discourage the world market, but every political party blames the other's leadership.

No support
I DON'T think it's right. I'm a parent working two jobs to take care of two kids, and it's hard for me to get child support from their father. You call child support, and they always use some kind of excuse. What are we paying our taxes for? To sit behind a desk and do nothing?
No help with meth
I RECENTLY moved here. I stopped by the library to get some information on methamphetamine and other drug use, since meth is a problem in this part of the country. To my surprise, there isn't really anything on drug abuse in the library. You might find one or two educational videos, but there's nothing to educate the kids. And people wonder why their kids are getting onto dope. I asked someone at the library about this, and she told me the library is underfunded and can't afford to buy these materials to educate the kids. Which would people prefer: to fund the libraries to get materials to teach children about drugs, or to fund the prisons when the kids get caught with meth?
Just keep left
I CAME. I saw. I conquered. I just couldn't help myself. I just had to see for myself what the roundabout was all about. Without seeing it first, I went in at my current speed and went round and round a couple of times, and was flung out the exit of my choice. It was a breeze, and it was fun. Of course, I was only driving a minivan. Heck, I bet even liberals could negotiate that thing. All they have to do is keep going to the left pun intended until they realize that sooner rather than later, they must go right. My only suggestion is to lose those bricks to allow more room.
Save a marriage
TELEMARKETERS should identify themselves on the phone. If a woman calls a home and the wife answers, and the saleswoman asks for the husband, it could be misunderstood.
