I NOTICE U.S. Sen. Christopher Bond has been bellyaching about the voting in Missouri. The voting in Missouri was nothing to compare with what happened in Florida. Why doesn't he check on how Bush stole the presidency?

Unfair nominations

I AM very disappointed in the actresses who were nominated for the Oscars, because I noticed Helen Hunt wasn't there. She was especially good in the "Pay It Forward" this year. It was especially good for the family because it showed if you do good deeds, perhaps it can spread and help other people. It is a shame when a movie with a message like this doesn't get the acclaim it deserves while some movies like "The Contender" get nominated. It just doesn't seem fair.

Troubling ruling

I'M VERY troubled by the ruling against Napster. For those of you who support the ruling, what are you going to do when they take the "record" button off of your VCRs and boom boxes and charge you with copyright infringement?

Poor pay taxes too

SOMEBODY SAID the poor don't pay taxes. This person is greatly uninformed. Tell that to the people who work for minimum wage every day. Tell them they don't pay taxes. Or tell that to the people on fixed incomes like I am. I have to make out a check every year to the Department of Revenue.

Where's it going?

I THINK the citizens in Cape Girardeau really need to know exactly where all this money is going for the injured police officers, because this is already covered by the department and the taxpayers' dollars. Really, where is this money going?
