Great witness

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Josh and Jason Barber who live on Mulberry Street in Jackson. My husband was having some trouble getting his truck out this morning after all this snow. They were so kind to come down, shovel our drive. Not only help him get his truck out, but shovel our drive, and ask if there was anything else we needed. I thanked them and asked them if I could have their names. They were very kind about it. He did give me his name finally. He said, "This is what Scripture tells us to do, is to help one another." And I just wanted to say thank you to both of them. What a witness that was for Christ. We appreciate your help so much. God bless you both.

Winkler brothers

The Cape Girardeau area has been very fortunate to have world class sports announcers on the radio. I go back to the great Bill Reynolds era. The tradition of excellent play-calling and color commentary has continued throughout the decades and will continue well into the future with the likes of Cape Central basketball play-by-play and color commentary being offered by the Winkler brothers, John and Ryan.

Stadium expense

To build yet a more expensive stadium for the Rams at this point seems ludicrous to me. The various owners have never been satisfied with the money and support from the St Louis area. Their current owner is making it clear he has no intention of staying here. Let them go! Find a set of owners with more class like the Hunts and bring another team. Please quit throwing more money down the toilet bowl that is the Rams organization.

Government role

Columnist Mike Jensen seems critical of government redistributing income. That make me wonder if he passed Civics 101. The very purpose of government is to redistribute income so as to serve important public services like, say, defending the country.
