Longer school year
Would a 10 or 11 month school year ever be feasible? This would make use of school facilities instead of sitting empty of students; but still time for yearly maintenance. This would still give families vacation time and lessen the child care issue for working parents. Probably wouldn't be acceptable to the educators, but who else gets this lengthy of a vacation from their employment?
NRA blood
I hope this NRA Blood Money follows the takers to their graves as it sure is putting a lot of other people in theirs. I pray to God that he is with these families. Especially with it being so close to Christmas. There is one group of people that is trying to destroy America and it isn't ISIS either. It sure looks like they are being close to doing just that.
Property tax support
Comparing Cape teacher pay with surrounding area teacher salaries is not a meaningful statistic. A telling one would be for Cape's assessed property value to be compared with school districts that have a similar valuation and then see what degree of support Cape school district property taxpayers pay in relation to those districts with a similar assessed valuation. Relative to the others, I would guess the result would reveal a local level of taxpayer support that is shockingly low.
Mass shootings
As of Dec. 2, there were 334 days in the year and 351 mass shootings in the U.S.
Trump, Jensen
Poor Mike Jensen. He is on the horns of a dilemma. He can't refrain from denouncing Donal Trump and yet, each time he does, Donald's support soars. Of course, Jensen shares culpability in helping to create the toxic environment allowing the likes of Trump to succeed.
Uphill battle
Whoever had the brilliant idea to reverse the parade route for the Jackson Christmas parade needs to rethink it. Do you think the students can march up that long hill and play music and breathe at the same time? Many adults will have trouble walking the parade. Not very smart.
Ironic
Does anybody else see it as extremely ironic that Rep. Jason Smith, the fellow who sees it as his destiny to repeal Obamacare, has his right-hand man quit working for him in order to go to what is probably a good paying job with a company that helps manage health care for Missouri Medicaid patients? Rep. Smith is even quoted in the article that his friend will 'do great in his new undertaking'. Remember now, Medicaid expansion was a major part of Obamacare. Ironic?
