Don't be criminals

I wish that police officer in St. Louis had not shot Michael Brown. I wish he'd just rolled up his window and called for more police backup, but the deed's done. What we have to remember is, we need our young people not to be criminals, instead to spend time in church and have a sense of family in love and God.

Loot excuse

This is in regard to the Ferguson case, where the cop got acquitted of the crime, of the shooting. I think the decision made by the jury, they thought that he was innocent, and I think the town ought to go along with the decision. But evidently they didn't. It was just another excuse for them to steal, loot and cause chaos where it really wasn't needed. And I just want to know if they would have done the same thing if somebody was coming toward them, maybe threatening their life, what they would have done?

On tracks

This is in response to the persons calling about the railroad tracks crossings in Jackson. They're at the stoplight. It's not the train people that are responsible for that. It's the state. The train does what it can to keep it up between state visits, but it is on a state program to be totally repaired after the beginning of the year. But if they have a complaint about it, it's the state they should be calling, not Speak Out complaining to the train people.

Smokers

This morning I read that the U.S. adult smoking rate dipped just under 18 percent of the population. My family just visited the casino in Cape Girardeau. It seems that those 18 percent were all at the casino that night. As soon as we walked into the front doors, it smelled like nasty ashtrays. When we came home our clothes smelled of stale cigarettes. Hopefully in a few years it will be reported that another 50 percent have given up this nasty habit.

Congress and Obama

Yes, maybe Obama should talk to Congress, but they are always on vacation, or out campaigning. But they won't talk with him if he tried. Anything that he tries to talk about they just say no. The street runs two ways, but not the one Congress is on. The street goes either out of town or to help the 1 percent get richer.

Not surrendering

Some people will do anything to get their 15 seconds of stardom even if it makes them look stupid. These "protesters" running around saying "Hands up, don't shoot" are still brainwashed from proven untrue statements that falsely portrayed Brown as surrendering. He was not.

Obama's fault

Consumer confidence is at its highest level in 7 years. For remaining consistently optimistic about our academic future and for demonstrating the benefits of a well-regulated free market, I thank you, President Obama.

Stupid coverage

Anyone who claims that Michael Brown wouldn't have killed officer Wilson needs to think back when our state trooper Froemsdorf, who was killed not by an armed black man but a man so skinny he was able to get out of the hand cuffs and take the trooper's gun and shoot him. Yes, the news media is raking in the money on their stupid unreal coverage. I have very little respect of them. Whether black, white or whatever color, a police officer should protect his own life in these situations as well as ours.

Sharpton

I see Al Sharpton on with the Brown family and the lawyer. And he's the one going around trying to get an uproar going. He's just a trouble maker. He makes trouble and then runs.
