Thank you for the dog park. It's awesome. My dog loves it. Thank you.
I'd like to comment on the 50-year anniversary date of the JFK assassination. I was in PE class, and it was like 1:30 in the afternoon when we found out. And all the kids stopped and there was several minutes nobody talked or anything. And some even cried. Nowadays, kids nowadays, they don't even know who the president is. But back then everybody knew JFK. I think he was the best president we ever had and everybody loved him. I just think kids nowadays should think more of their president and at least know his name and the vice president's name. They should teach kids this in school.
It's amazing how the Democrats had a change of heart, because in 2005 they ranted and railed about the possibility of the nuclear option by the Republicans. But now it seems like it's OK, because all the Democrats voted for it recently.
Belmont's basketball win over perennially powerful UNC has overnight established the OVC as on par with the ACC and other NCAA Division I conferences in the country. In addition, we all know who was the preseason pick to win the OVC. Go SEMO Redhawks!
To the caller who suggests ethanol makes our cars run better and cleaner: This is complete nonsense. Every make and model of "flex-fuel" cars gets worse mileage and operates less efficiently running E85 than pure gasoline. The 10 and 15 percent mandates have decreased fuel efficiency and has reduced engine life on most makes and models. Simply put, ethanol yields fewer BTU per gallon and is more expensive unless subsidized. Don't let your bias get in the way of facts.
The new roundabout at Route W and Lexington seems to be working quite well. I wish the roundabout at Gordonville and Silver Springs worked as well. Drivers coming up the hill from William Street don't think they need to yield to traffic even though there is a yield sign there. Several times I have almost been hit by a car coming up the hill and not yielding. In fact, some drivers don't even slow down.
I think it's terrible that social media may make it even more difficult to teach writing skills to tech-savvy students. Do u?
