Christmas giving

SOON shopping for Christmas gifts will begin and we will spend $500 billion on each other in our country. Somehow we link celebrating the birth of Christ with wastefulness that he would deplore. Please consider showing your children and friends what generosity can really mean by giving to charities, donating your time and giving only necessities rather than gifts that will only last a short time. Set a goal for maybe a fourth or half of your spending budget on Christmas to go to those who are really in need.
