Thank you, Lord, for the four seasons. With the trees you are painting up our landscape, and it is beautiful.
Come on, school nutritionists. Nutritious and good tasting food are not mutually exclusive.
The first Democratic presidential debate was among mature adults, focused on the issues, was at times philosophical, and was lacking in any personal insults. For those and other reasons, many who read the Southeast Missourian will consider the debate to have been mind-numbingly boring.
Forty-four percent of people who live in Israel are "very concerned" about ISIS. In the U.S., the figure is 68 percent, proving that the ultra right wing fanatics in the media have done a shamefully excellent job in completely unnerving the American people, all for the sake of ratings.
SEMO's Secular Society is by no means made up exclusively of atheists. Secularists tend to believe society should emphasize and propose solutions for problems plaguing this world as opposed to stressing the possibility of an afterlife. Many might believe in a supreme being but do not think He/She is involved in the day-to-day events of this world. Secularism began to take root in the western world during and after the Enlightenment, following the time when the likes of Galileo were persecuted for promoting accurate, scientific views of the universe. Secularism is under siege in the U.S. today, as partly proven by the anti-science views of Ben Carson, a man educated in science who knows better but can't resist pandering for crass political purposes.
The number of extremist Democrat comments in Speak Out is getting ridiculous. If they are any indication of the party's general beliefs, we should all be concerned. We worry about extremists in the Middle East, yet the Democrats are quickly becoming just as bad. At the rate they are regressing, they will start issuing fatwas against those who don't share their beliefs.
David Limbaugh, who is your choice for Speaker of the House? Just curious.
