Thank you to the Cape Girardeau community for turning out and enjoying a preview of our upcoming Fall for Dance Concert (Dec. 2 to 4) at last week's First Friday Open Rehearsal in the River Campus Dance Studio. The Southeast Missouri State University Theatre and Dance Department is bringing its own starring "team" to the Bedell Performance Hall in less than one month, and if you haven't seen how much virtuosity Southeast's "players" have in the dance program, with greater commitment, depth and strength than ever, you ain't seen nothin' yet. These budding dancer-choreographer-artists are powerful, speedy and smart, just like Southeast's football team, and they will shortly bring back their own touchdowns to the Bedell "end zone."
This year, Southeast's dancers continue their "winning streak" by posting higher GPAs than ever and adding to the annually increasing enrollment of the department -- right alongside the acting, musical theater and design majors. Look for the department's awesome returning "offensive front line."
Guys, take your dates out for dinner and a dance. Gals, do the same for your sweetie.
MARC STRAUSS, Jackson
