I had never considered -- if Louis Lorimier was handing out Spanish land grants when Lewis and Clark came through, how was it that the U.S. government bought Louisiana purchase from the French a few months later?

Linda Nash knew her subject extremely well. She taught history in Jackson schools for many years. But I was the lone audience member. The public missed out on some good information. More speakers are set for coming Saturdays including Dr. Frank Nickell, retired SEMO history professor.
