I read with great interest your Aug. 20 article that dealt with more high school students taking college courses. It certainly is most impressive that all of our students are concerned about academic excellence. I just wanted to mention that here at Notre Dame Regional High School we too offer the opportunities for advanced college credit and dual enrollment with Southeast Missouri State University. This year we also have the opportunity to offer 39 college credits from St. Louis University. We have also seen a major increase in students who wish to take these advanced courses and are pleased to say that both our ACT and SAT scores have once again been higher than the local, state and national level.

In this day and age when we so often hear about crisis and violence in high schools throughout the nation, it is wonderful to be able to congratulate all of the students in the public, parochial and private sector.

Well done, students and teachers of Missouri. Keep up the good work.BROTHER DAVID
