A while back we mentioned a New Hampshire state representative who, after he was elected, revealed he supports killing police officers in certain instances. When that came out, there was immediate pressure for the legislator to step down.
Now Rep. Tom Alciere has done just that, with the provision that another representative would put his name on eight bills Alciere had introduced. Those bills deal with education, underage drinking and drug abuse, not the police.
Now another New Hampshire representative has disclosed a criminal record that wasn't made known before November's election. Rep. Ron "Tony" Giordano said last week he served time for check forging and for stealing handcuffs. He was known as Ron Gordon at the time.
New Hampshire boasts the largest House of Representatives -- 400 members for a population of about 1.2 million -- in the nation. It is temporarily short one member. Perhaps some residents of the state would like to see another vacancy as well.
