To the editor:
In response to the letter about the dog getting shot, a lot of facts were left out.
The dog had previously bitten my daughter while she was playing in her own yard. The owners were notified about this. The sheriff's department also was notified about it. An officer told the owner to keep the dog up, but he failed to do so.
The dog also tried to bite my son a few days ago. I was in my yard Sunday picking up trash when the dog tried to bite me, and I shot it.
There are numerous reports made to the sheriff's department and animal control officer about this person's dogs. There are also other neighbors who have had trouble with their dogs.
You should have the right to protect your family, and people should keep their animals at home and under control.
