To the editor: I am incensed that any political party could obtain an extension of hours for an election in this state by merely appealing to a sympathetic judge. This really smells of political shenanigans. Our elections need to stay as fair and honest as can possibly maintain them for all parties, no mater what their political persuasion...

To the editor:

I am incensed that any political party could obtain an extension of hours for an election in this state by merely appealing to a sympathetic judge. This really smells of political shenanigans. Our elections need to stay as fair and honest as can possibly maintain them for all parties, no mater what their political persuasion.

Everyone knows the hours of an election. Employers are required to give employees an hour off to go to the polls if they cannot reach their precinct either before or after work. There is no valid reason or excuse possible for extending the hours of an election in any particular area.

Surely our legislators can come up with something to prevent this from ever happening again.
