To the editor:
In a Feb. 23 letter, Donn S. Miller took exception to my earlier letter exposing political correctness for what it is. Although his letter was fairly long, he didn't come right out and say why he though this political correctness nonsense was anything but thought control like I contended. Instead, he got beside the point by rambling on about organizations he had belonged to in the 1960s and about song sheets that were circulated and about Jews' being gunned down by Nazis. These things had nothing to do with my letter.
Mr. Miller's main objection seemed to be that I am conservative. In a socialist society, that is a crime. But so far it isn't law here yet, even though it is being practiced quite often. Such things as political correctness are only steps leading up to socialism, and that was the reason for my original letter.
But let it be known that I am a true conservative, unlike those who back the socialist agenda while hiding behind the conservative label. The only difference between socialists and liberals is that socialists are at least honest enough to admit to their beliefs, while liberals are hiding behind a different label. Their goals are the same.
Yes, I am a conservative, and I apologize to no one for that. I do my own thinking. I believe in individual responsibility. As for being tolerant, I am tolerant only toward those who deserve it, but not toward those who are taking my freedom away.
I am not anti-government as the liberal propagandists claim. That would be pure stupidity, since government is necessary. What I am against is crooks, traitors and socialists within our government who are working day and night trying to tear down our existing form of government and replacing it with socialism. If anyone can come up with a good reason why this is wrong, I will be willing to listen. But bear in mind that it will have to be better reasons than the old worn-out ones that the liberals keep trying to cram down our throats.
