If child molesters, rapists and murderers make you angry, you will no doubt be interested in the part Vice President Al Gore had in bringing these to the United States in order to help re-elect the Clinton-Gore team in 1996. Details were printed in Aug. 23 The Wall Street Journal.

It was Gore's job in the 1996 election to use his vice presidency to put pressure on the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service to admit 1 million new foreigners in time for them to vote in the 1996 election. Bill Clinton and Gore believed the foreigners would vote for Democrats.

But in order to process 1 million new citizens by the voter registration-cutoff date, normal immigration procedures had to be set aside. Gore's e-mail and other records show he pressured the INS to set aside normal FBI checks on individuals applying for citizenship, 75,000 of whom had arrest records in their native countries.

We have recently learned that many of these new citizens also have been charged with violent crimes in this country, including sexual abuse of children, rape and murder.

According to the Wall Street Journal article, "a similar plan may be in the works for the 2000 presidential election." I think we should ask Gore about this when he campaigns in Illinois.

The author of the Wall Street Journal article is David Schippers, a lifelong Democrat known in Illinois for his prosecution of Chicago mobsters.
