To the Editor: During the past two weeks I have received three telephone calls from pollsters wanting to know 1. If I was registered to vote, and 2. If I was in favor of riverboat gambling. My response was, yes I was a registered voter and, yes I was in favor of riverboat gambling on one condition -- that we would legalize prostitution also...

To the Editor:

During the past two weeks I have received three telephone calls from pollsters wanting to know 1. If I was registered to vote, and 2. If I was in favor of riverboat gambling.

My response was, yes I was a registered voter and, yes I was in favor of riverboat gambling on one condition -- that we would legalize prostitution also.

If we are in favor of riverboat gambling, aren't we trading morals for dollars? What's the difference?

The people of Cape should go down on their knees and thank the Lord that they live in a community that is relatively crime free compared to the larger metropolitan communities.

George Washington said, "Gambling is the child of avarice, the brother of inequity and the father of mischief." Others have said gambling is one sure way of getting nothing for something.
